Chemical and Biological Engineering

A quantitative description of major physiological systems within the human body, including anatomy, biochemistry, and biophysical elements. Core concepts include causality, cell-to-cell communication, cell membrane, cell theory, flow down gradients, homeostasis, interdependence, levels of organization, scientific reasoning, and structure/function relationships.

An advanced technical introduction and quantitative evaluation of selected topics within the broad subject of alternative energy. Analysis of sustainable solutions for energy storage, emerging distributed energy systems, and advanced centralized power production will be the cornerstone of this course.
